Welcome to The Concealed Carry Way, Bear Arms Training’s flagship concealed carry course designed for your personal protection and personal growth. This 6-hour program builds on foundational skills while focusing on critical aspects such as decision-making, situational awareness, de-escalation techniques, and avoidance strategies. Taught by Certified Instructors, the course integrates real-world scenarios with practical shooting exercises to ensure a disciplined and hands-on learning experience. With a maximum class size of 10 participants, you’ll receive personalized attention to develop a comprehensive skill set and increase your confidence. Additionally, this course covers Virginia-specific use-of-force laws, equipping you with essential legal knowledge for responsible firearm ownership.

DIVING INTO THE CURRICULUM

Our comprehensive curriculum covers a range of critical topics to help you become a more proficient and competent defender of yourself and your loved ones. Throughout this course, you’ll achieve proficiency in a wide array of skills, including:

• Use-of-Force: Understanding what you need to know about the laws concerning your rights. Learn how to identify and respond properly to varying threat levels.
• De-Escalation: Master the skill of defusing or reducing tension and potential conflict in order to prevent a situation from escalating into violence or further harm.
• Situational Awareness (SA): Sharpen your skill in keenly perceiving surroundings to foresee and effectively address potential risks.
• Principles of Concealed Carry: Comprehend concealed carry fundamentals encompassing lawful, safe firearm carrying while emphasizing situational awareness, responsibility, and ethical judgment.
• Mindset: Master your mental attitude and readiness, which influence actions and decisions, particularly in challenging or threatening situations.
• Ethical Considerations: Learn how to evaluate moral implications, prioritizing responsible and just actions, particularly in self-defense situations involving force.

ELIGIBILITY AND PREREQUISITES:

The Concealed Carry Way Course is open to participants aged 21 and over, regardless of background or experience. While prior firearm training is not mandatory, completing a basic firearms course before enrolling is recommended. Our dedicated instructors support you in establishing a strong foundation in concealed carry principles while maintaining a strong level of safety for all participants.

LIVE-FIRE SESSION:

This course is designed to evaluate a concealed carry participant’s ability to respond effectively according to Bear Arms Training’s high standards for responsible carry. These standards are grounded in real-life events that have shaped the firearms training industry, ensuring they reflect practical, life-saving principles. The shooting portion serves as the key metric, providing an assessment based on scenarios inspired by real-world experiences.

EQUIPPING YOURSELF:

To participate in the live-fire portion, you will need 250 rounds of dependable, jacketed ammunition—factory or re-manufactured.  Federal American Eagle, Fiocchi, PMC, Independence, or MagTech are who we recommend. Students are required to bring their own firearms, holsters (NO SERPA or DROP LEG), magazine pouches, concealed garments (e.g., shirt, jacket), protective shooting glasses, ear protection, and a good belt. Students are expected to wear their firearms during the duration of the course. Your firearm is either in the holster, at the ready, or on the target- no exceptions. DO NOT remove your firearm without instruction. We prioritize safety above all else, so you can focus on learning and honing your shooting skills. Our instructors are dedicated to an exceptional level of safety in each course. Any violation of that safety and the student will be removed from the course immediately

ATTENTION: SAFETY RELEASE for Bear Arms Training, LLC

The safety of our students and staff require that we take the following action, effective 07/26/2025:

The SIG P320 in all its variants are now prohibited from any Bear Arms Training course.

Exception- Personnel who belong to an agency/unit that requires the use of a P320 or derivative may use their issue weapon, but only in an outside waistband holster worn at 3:00-4:30 on the belt. NO appendix or IWB carry with this weapon. Students seeking this exception must provide written documentation that the P320 is their issued/required sidearm.

REMINDER: **Our Cancellation Policy:**

All courses are non-refundable. A minimum of 48-hour notification is required, and participants may reschedule only once per registration fee.

We understand that life happens, and schedules can change unexpectedly. Here’s how we help accommodate you:

• **Automatic transfer** – Your registration is automatically moved to our next available course

• **Advance notice** – We’ll send you a reminder email one week prior to your new class date

• **No additional fees** – Your original payment covers the rescheduled session

**Private Course Option:**

If our scheduled classes don’t work with your availability, we offer another solution: If you have friends or family members interested in training, we can transfer your credit toward a private course designed specifically for your group.

At Bear Arms Training, we maintain small class sizes with a maximum of 10 students and a 5:1 student-to-instructor ratio. This ensures personalized, quality instruction while giving us the flexibility to work with you when life gets in the way.
