While prior firearm training is not mandatory\, completing a basic firearms course before enrolling is recommended. Our dedicated instructors support you in establishing a strong foundation in concealed carry principles while maintaining a strong level of safety for all participants. \nLIVE-FIRE SESSION: \nThe highlight of EDC 1.0 is applying your newfound knowledge into practice during the live-fire training session. Conducted at one of our partnered ranges\, the live-fire session takes place at the end of the course. You will receive personalized guidance from our Certified Instructors\, ensuring a safe and rewarding experience. \nEQUIPPING YOURSELF: \nTo participate in the live-fire portion\, you will need 250 rounds of dependable\, jacketed ammunition—factory or re-manufactured.  Federal American Eagle\, Fiocchi\, PMC\, Independence\, or MagTech are who we recommend. Students are required to bring their own firearms\, holsters (NO SERPA or DROP LEG)\, magazine pouches\, concealed garments (e.g.\, shirt\, jacket)\, protective shooting glasses\, ear protection\, and a good belt. Students are expected to wear their firearms during the duration of the course. Your firearm is either in the holster\, at the ready\, or on the target- no exceptions. DO NOT remove your firearm without instruction. We prioritize safety above all else\, so you can focus on learning and honing your shooting skills. Our instructors are dedicated to an exceptional level of safety in each course. It addresses crucial topics\, including firearm safety rules\, secure storage practices\, and equipping young individuals with the tools to make informed decisions in various life situations. Seasoned instructors offer hands-on training to ensure participants gain the skills and confidence to handle firearms responsibly. \nThe curriculum is designed to cover a wide range of vital subjects\, such as: \n\nMastery of Firearms Safety: Participants discover the essential safety guidelines that serve as the building blocks of responsible firearm habits. Embracing these core principles helps create a safe environment inside and outside the home.\nMastering the ABCs of Shooting: The program focuses on enhancing shooting skills with confidence. This includes mastering fundamental principles such as stance\, grip\, sight alignment\, and trigger control\, which provide a strong foundation for honing shooting abilities.\nExploring Firearm Operations: Students learn about firearms’ components\, functions\, purposes\, and\, most importantly\, how to avoid accidents. Familiarity with firearms fosters respect and boosts confidence.\nEnhancing Marksmanship Skills: Experienced instructors guide students from beginner to skilled shooter status through hands-on experiences in a virtual setting using VR simulators and SIRT guns (training guns with lasers). Led by Certified Instructors\, this 6-hour course will guide you through real-world scenarios while applying theory to practical shooting. With a maximum class size of 12 participants\, you’re guaranteed to gain a comprehensive skill set and boost your confidence. \n\nDIVING INTO THE CURRICULUM \nOur comprehensive curriculum covers a range of critical topics to help you become a more proficient and competent defender of yourself and your loved ones. Throughout this course\, you’ll achieve proficiency in a wide array of skills\, including: \n\nDe-Escalation \nMaster the skill of defusing or reducing tension and potential conflict in order to prevent a situation from escalating into violence or further harm. \nEmergency Reloads \nAcquire safe\, efficient firearm reloading skills for uninterrupted preparedness during critical moments. \nSituational Awareness (SA) \nSharpen your skill in keenly perceiving surroundings to foresee and effectively address potential risks. \nPrinciples of Concealed Carry \nComprehend concealed carry fundamentals encompassing lawful\, safe firearm carrying while emphasizing situational awareness\, responsibility\, and ethical judgment. \nMindset \nMaster your mental attitude and readiness\, which influence actions and decisions\, particularly in challenging or threatening situations. \nLaw Enforcement Engagement \nUnderstand the significance of engaging with law enforcement while abiding by legal protocols and cooperation. \nEthical Consideration \nLearn how to evaluate moral implications\, prioritizing responsible and just actions\, particularly in self-defense situations involving force. \n\nELIGIBILITY AND PREREQUISITES: \nEDC 1.0 is open to participants aged 21 and over\, regardless of background or experience. While prior firearm training is not mandatory\, completing a basic firearms course before enrolling is recommended. Our dedicated instructors support you in establishing a strong foundation in concealed carry principles while maintaining a strong level of safety for all participants. \n\nLIVE-FIRE SESSION: \nThe highlight of EDC 1.0 is applying your newfound knowledge into practice during the live-fire training session. Conducted at one of our partnered ranges\, the live-fire session takes place at the end of the course. You will receive personalized guidance from our Certified Instructors\, ensuring a safe and rewarding experience. \n\nEQUIPPING YOURSELF: \nTo participate in the live-fire portion\, you will need 250 rounds of dependable\, jacketed ammunition—factory or re-manufactured.  Federal American Eagle\, Fiocchi\, PMC\, Independence\, or MagTech are who we recommend. Students are required to bring their own firearms\, holsters (NO SERPA or DROP LEG)\, magazine pouches\, concealed garments (e.g.\, shirt\, jacket)\, protective shooting glasses\, ear protection\, and a good belt. Students are expected to wear their firearms during the duration of the course. Your firearm is either in the holster\, at the ready\, or on the target- no exceptions. DO NOT remove your firearm without instruction. We prioritize safety above all else\, so you can focus on learning and honing your shooting skills. Our instructors are dedicated to an exceptional level of safety in each course. Any violation of that safety and the student will be removed from the course immediately. \n\nSEAMLESS LEARNING EXPERIENCE: \nAt Bear Arms Training\, we hold the seamless progression of your learning experience as paramount.
