📘 Classroom Instruction
1. Safety First
- Universal Rules of Firearms Safety
- Range safety procedures and commands
- Malfunction protocols (stoppages and safe clears)
2. Rifle Setup & Function
- Breakdown of AR-15-style platforms (or similar semi-autos)
- Selecting and mounting optics, lights, and accessories
- Sling types and proper sling setup
- Understanding zeroing concepts (with our preferred zero)
3. EDC and Home Defense Considerations
- Common home defense configurations
- Barrel length, maneuverability, and light usage
- Legal considerations and safe storage practices
🔫 Live-Fire Range Instruction
1. Rifle Manipulation & Marksmanship
- Proper stance, grip, and rifle mount
- Eye-target alignment, red dot or iron sight use
- Trigger control and recoil management
- Establishing a consistent shooting cadance
2. Shooting Positions & Transitions
- Standing, kneeling, and prone
- Moving smoothly between positions
- Single and multiple-target transitions
3. Reloads & Malfunctions
- Emergency reloads (bolt-lock)
- Tactical reloads (with retention)
- Malfunction identification and safe clearance
4. Movement & Awareness
- Shooting from behind cover/concealment
- Pieing corners and shoulder transitions (intro level)
- Controlled movement with muzzle discipline
5. Final Drills: Skills Integration
- Timed transitions and target engagement
- Reloads under light stress
- Round-count-efficient defensive scenarios
- Personalized coaching and feedback
🎒 Required Equipment
- Rifle with mounted optic or iron sights
- Sling (2-point preferred)
- 200–300 rounds of rifle ammunition
- 2+ magazines with belt-mounted mag pouches
- Eye and ear protection
- Water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen
- Camp chair or stool
- Notebook & pen
